UTBC Golf Tournament 2025 - Benefiting VFW Oldsmar Florida-Top of the Bay

The Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual golf tournament to unite businesses and support local nonprofit organizations.

This year, we are excited to offer you the opportunity to play at the famous Westchase Golf Club. The tournament takes place on September 11th. This date is significant in our history as it marks the start of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) era, in which many of our veterans served.  We are proud to support our local VFW Post & Auxiliary 12186, emphasizing veteran and family outreach and advocacy within the community.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars dates back to 1899 and was congressionally chartered in 1936 as a patriotic, nonprofit organization uniquely composed of military veterans who have served in a foreign conflict and its Auxiliary with their family members.

The VFW national entity provides an organizational structure and advocates for legislative affairs related to earned benefits and recognition for these service members and their families. 

VFW Post 12186 was established in 2019 as a new expansion to provide local resource assistance, community volunteer opportunities, peer and business networking, and overall camaraderie among its members. 

Although there is no physical Post home to generate their own funds, here at the “Top of the Bay,” partnerships with the UTBC, Oldsmar Cares, and the City have helped them expand into the community while earning national recognition an “All-American Post.”
